Writing Challenge of the Week:

Grocery cart survey – next time you’re at the grocery store, look for someone who catches your attention (for whatever reason) and study the contents of the cart. (Please do this as covertly as possible to avoid giving off any stalker vibes.)

Take a mental picture, or make a list on the back of yours, and as soon as possible write a little character profile on this person.

And, as always, I’d love to read what you come up with.  

Why this works:  Our characters are real people, right? And if there’s anything to the “we are what we eat” rumor, what better place to get an idea of who our characters are than by studying their groceries?
